what is on the fly image protection?

what does this mean?

Enable on-the-fly image protection
This option uses the watermark.php script to serve images

When using on-the-fly image generation, do you want to overlay the watermark image?
You can use this feature for on-the-fly watermarks in combination with the on-the-fly image generation.

i am watermarking my photos with a png file at bottom right...
will this other feature benefit me in some way?

thanks!

If your already permanently watermarking files you do not want to use on the fly watermarking cause you can not remove a watermark on a permanently watermarked image so using on the fly while it does not destroy the image on all your old images you will have 2 watermarks

You can use the watermark script to serve the images just do not turn on the option to use the overlay watermark

I do beleive I explained this above. You are using permanent watermarking the overlay watermark watermarks an image without destroying it but this is not something you switch midstream cause I explained your images will have 2 watermarks. As far as the watermark script to serve images it uses a file to serve images hiding the image path instead of just serving the image via the true path.
