Upload from URL

Is it possible for members to upload their images from a URL? I thought the
"Allow downloads from URLs?" option in the Upload Options would be what I was looking for, but it doesnt seem to be working.

"Retrieve all images from a URL:" shows up when that is enabled and you go to upload, but when you put a URL in there, it says the image has uploaded successfully, and then brings you to your gallery. No sign of the image...

can anyone explain these options more clearly? Thanks...

what type of page are you doing are you typing in a full url and page name?

I think we need more info on what your doing or entering so we can provide you support.

If I place a full url to say a page name which has images on the page through img tags in the page they are processed and added to my gallery

I am putting a full URL to my image (ending in .jpg) in where is says "retrieve images from a URL" when I am uploading images...

but I think I am using it wrong. Which I why I was looking for an explanation of that feature...

I just found another post asking about uploading from URLs and someone replied saying it was not possible - so what are these for?

Allow downloads from URLs? (in admin options - upload images section)
Retrieve all images from a URL: (when uploading)

Allow downloads from URLs?

That means we will show that box to retrieve all images from a url

I can enter a url to an external photo and have my photopost download and process it. You sure its not something simple like the photo your trying to download is over your PHP's max file upload size cause if thats the case your server is just gonna drop it and photopost has nothing to process.
