Recent Photos Exclusion

I have created a category called News Letter, and in this category I am posting a .pdf file that folks can download. When I upload to this category I do not want the file to show up in Recent Photos. Try as I might I can not find a way to limit what goes into Recent Photos category. Is there a way to limits what goes into the Recent Photos?

The files are only limited in respects to who has permission to view them. If you allow people to see images etc in that category it will appear in the photo blocks.

Sorry Chuck, not entirely sure I know what you are saying. Its ok for folks to view this file, I just want the file to go to the category I assigned "News Letter" but not go to recent uploads. I saw a code change discussed in one of the threads that I think addresses this about not having uploads go into recent photos by excluding the category in the query. I will try this but just one question, how do I find the category code for the folder I created?

when viewing a category there is a numeric identifier for that cat like cat=513 this is your cat id and the variable you use

Sorry Chuck, I have looked both in Viewing and Editing the categories and the only number I see is the Sort order. What am I doing wrong?
