| Can I change uploaded videos via FTP?
I allow video uploads on my site. There are instances when I feel I can reduce the size of the uploaded videos (by other users). After downloading and editing, can I upload the edited video (same filename) and overwrite the existing one in the data folder? I don't think there is an option to change a video via Edit Photo. I actually tried this once and the video did not seem to get updated. Can I do this? Do users have to clear cache for the edited video to appear? I can always upload another instance and delete the old one but I'd rather not do that.
Thanks.

Yes, you can over right the original.

Thanks Michael. It works. Now, this is no big deal but I'd like to change the file size also because the file size displayed on showphoto is still the original size from the original upload. Should I just do this directly on phpmyadmin? And btw, and this is now a suggestion I guess, I hope that in future versions we would be able to upload another version of a video on Edit Photo like we do with an image.

I believe you can upload a new video over an old one; at least you could in the past and I never changed that. You just EDIT PHOTO and upload the new video file.

and on top the page, it says: Warning: Division by zero in /home/path-to/my/website/gallery/image-inc.php on line 292
I thought that the Browse on Edit Photo (for videos) is only for changing the thumbnails (I have done that several times to change thumbnails) but if you put an actual video to possibly overwrite the existing one, you get the error above.

Hi Michael. Any update? Are you able to replicate the issue? Or am I the only one experiencing the error? Thanks.

Yes for multimedia when you edit a photo uploading a photo is only a means to change the thumbnail which means using uploading a graphic file. Unless Michael changes the coding thats all one can do.

Well, I hope Michael gets some time to change the coding . Majority of videos uploaded on my site can be edited and reduced further in size without compromising quality. I'll post this in the suggestion Forum as well.

You can always upload the changed file with the same name overwriting the original via ftp.

I also have to go to phpmyadmin so I can change the size of the file displayed on showphoto since the size is from the original upload. I wish I don't have to do that but it works for my purpose.
