I need a step by step to integrate PP to vbulletin

I wish Photopost had telephone support, as most of my upport questions here go unanswered, and they reply to my e-mails about a week after I send them.

I have been able to figure out with forum and telephone support how to trip my way through getting my vbulletin up and running. I have paid fo rand had Photopost Pro installed. I have created a navbar link on my vbulletin that takes members to the Gallery. I can't even see a menu for uploading photos into the Gallery!

However, I want to have some photos from the Gallery show up near the top on the vBulletin main skin as a teaser. For starters it would just be a random images thing.

But for the life of me, in reading all these posts here how to do it, it is so convoluted that it is totalyl confusing to someone who has no experience.

With vBulletin, I can get a forum response where some tells you the actual path with >'s and all.

Here, I see a; "In conjunction with thread" that refers back and forth to multiple threads that just end up being impossible to follow for a newbie. Then one thread says combine databases, as if I knew where the databases resides or even what the database folder was called. The other referrign thread says nothign about databses.

The information on how to do this is all there, but in a million different places, not all together in a tutorial.

What I wouldn't give for a simple flow path that assumes the user is new and not familiar with terms or has no knowledge of where things are including where to find the right folders on the server.

That is why I have a Mac, I just look for a folder named something and move what I am told into the folder.

Does anyone have a complete tutorial that isn't fragmented?

If you do, as they complimented in the 1800's, you'd be a Daisy!

Otherwise, why can't I pay for a 6 or 12 month telephone support with PhotoPost Pro? So far the've never even answered the phone when I call.

We do not have telephone support it is via email and support forum. Now in reply to you saying it takes a week to get a reply I feel the need to state the facts as I see it. You have posted one support ticket via email asking about telephone support and I see Zachariah responded to you first thing the next morning as you had sent it after 8pm. Same thing I looked at your forum post and I see you posted late late at night and I responded to your question first thing in the morning

Now to your question about posting random images on your site this modification thread should explain how to do that.

That is exactly what your looking for.

Chuck,

I don't mind paying someone to do all this, but I don't want to be blind either, that is why i am trying so hard to learn this and why I was interested in paying for telephone support.

I know you provided me that link previousy, thanks, but it is not a set of directions for a new user, it requires the user to be highly familiar with web hosting and website programming terminology.

If I can ever tough it out and get the experts here to be patient with a 99% computer moron, then maybe years from now of running PhotoPost Pro I can look back at my noob questions and cringe, probably like you experts should rightfully be doing at my following comments.

As an example, there is the attached xml file in your post (thanks). I am on a Mac running OSX. I download the xml file and double click on it, all it does is launch my Final Cut pro program. My FCP works fine, but when the xml file opens my FCP, I get a FCP message window that says; "Please choose a translation document". Ok, so that sure doesn't work. I am guessing it is not a Mac compatible file and OSX is trying to open it.

When I click on the link "in conjunction with this thread" the first problem I run into is the very first sentence; "1) Assuming you have already configured your config-int.php file". I know most of the guys here can do this stuff in your sleep, but I see no documentation on exactly how to configure or where that file even resides with a full path to find it.

Next is; "Follow the instructions in the Configuration section for any options which you can set." What configuration sections, the photpost Admin control panel?

Then it raises the specter if I have PhotoPost and vB in different databases. I didn't install it, I had my host company do it, so I guess I can ask them.

When it says upload the scripts, we're back to an xml file that I can't open, let alone pick inside to see what file or folder is labeled "scripts".

Instruction item #3 I think I can handle.

Under the heading; vB Template additions, I think I can stumble my way through that, but it is not clear if either of those adds the horizontal "random images" bar near the top of my main vB template.

The XML file is a plugin you install in your vb plugin system as the thread suggests. I would suggest that you go to the vbulletin.com site on their support site and read any tutorials they have there on setting up plugins in their software. This should help you tremendously as all of this requires you working with vbulletin. You can see if your databases are separate or the same in admin => config settings
