Chuck,
I don't mind paying someone to do all this, but I don't want to be blind either, that is why i am trying so hard to learn this and why I was interested in paying for telephone support.
I know you provided me that link previousy, thanks, but it is not a set of directions for a new user, it requires the user to be highly familiar with web hosting and website programming terminology.
If I can ever tough it out and get the experts here to be patient with a 99% computer moron, then maybe years from now of running PhotoPost Pro I can look back at my noob questions and cringe, probably like you experts should rightfully be doing at my following comments.
As an example, there is the attached xml file in your post (thanks). I am on a Mac running OSX. I download the xml file and double click on it, all it does is launch my Final Cut pro program. My FCP works fine, but when the xml file opens my FCP, I get a FCP message window that says; "Please choose a translation document". Ok, so that sure doesn't work. I am guessing it is not a Mac compatible file and OSX is trying to open it.
When I click on the link "in conjunction with this thread" the first problem I run into is the very first sentence; "1) Assuming you have already configured your config-int.php file". I know most of the guys here can do this stuff in your sleep, but I see no documentation on exactly how to configure or where that file even resides with a full path to find it.
Next is; "Follow the instructions in the Configuration section for any options which you can set." What configuration sections, the photpost Admin control panel?
Then it raises the specter if I have PhotoPost and
vB in different databases. I didn't install it, I had my host company do it, so I guess I can ask them.
When it says upload the scripts, we're back to an xml file that I can't open, let alone pick inside to see what file or folder is labeled "scripts".
Instruction item #3 I think I can handle.
Under the heading;
vB Template additions, I think I can stumble my way through that, but it is not clear if either of those adds the horizontal "random images" bar near the top of my main
vB template.
