Uploads Not Working Properly Hello, I have tried unsuccessfully to import photos from Coppermine using the script on this board. The thread on this script was not helpful. Next I tried the multiple file uploads, which did not work either. I have uploaded both zip archives and the individual files. I have placed the files/zip archive in both the ../upload/1/ or into separate folders inside the ../upload/ directory. The result are a few photos or none of the files are uploaded. After the script uploads, I checked the sever ../upload/ directory and the files were removed after the script operation. My initial impression with PhotoPost is not that favorable. The lack of an updated manual or an easily located link to existing outdated manual does not help. At very least, a link to the old manual should appear as a sticky in the top the related forums. The basic integration to VB3 (templates, users sharing, etc) seems good. Other VB3 features are sorely missing such as adding photos to the forums pages. PhotoPost Pro seems more like a standalone program. The admin section needs work. Helpful features such as mass file import and file editing should be present. While within the admin screen, User profiles should have links to their photos/albums. Each user album should have a URL for public viewing not just private ablums. INSTALL ERROR In Step 1 (Section: 4. Web Installation Script) of your instructions, it states "Change permissions to 777 and run again." The program did not work until I changed the permissions back to 755 after the web install script was completed. I am sure I was not the first to encounter this. Unless my setup of the program or server is faulty, I regret my decision on purchasing PhotoPost Pro. Thanks |
You can post your issues with a coppermine importer in that thread but I will tell you most any error comes from users entering wrong database info or server paths to files but you can discuss that issue in the proper forum. As far as Photopost uploads issues you need to post more extensively on what issue you have. Most common issue is users have incorrect permissions or server paths to data directory or wrong processor selected. Post your specific error and we can tell you what is wrong. |
