Sorting problem

Hello Chuck,
I've looked at about 10 pages back and couldn't find help on this. If this had already been asked by someone in the past then I apologize.

I have a large and active gallery and my members need help with the sorting order. My gallery version is 5.62.

When you are in the "Member galleries" and click on a particular member say "Peter" to see his photos, they are listed in the order of newest to oldest. That is very practical for the general viewers but not for "Peter" because he want to track the latest comment, not the latest photo. He can sort the photos by latest comment with the sorting tools on the bottom of the page but that's very inconvenient for him because he has to do it every time he want to track the latest comment.

I remember that in the old version such as 4.6, this sorting preference can be set once and it will remember your setting until you change it.

Can we bring that back ? If not then please tell me what line in showgallery.tmpl file I need to edit to have the photos defaulted in latest comment ?

This problem only happen in the "Member galleries" category. In all other categories, the default order is correctly set by "latest comment".

My members really need this feature. I appreciate for all the help.

You can set the default category sort for a category in admin => edit categories and set the sort for members gallery but thats going to set it that way for all
