I am new to Photopost and am trying to upload my first photo to the gallery. I must have something set up wrong because I keep getting this error message. I used photoshop to save the photo for the web @ 500 pixels. The file is a jpeg. I though it might just be that picture, so I tried others but get the same message. Can you help me?
"" +profile "*" -size 500x500 -quality 100 -geometry 500x500 -unsharp 10 '/services/webpages/a/l/allthingsvisual.biz/public/photopost/data/500/thumbs/layout_julie_Kyra.jpg'

You are telling Photopost to use mogrify but your path to mogrify on your server is empty in the config settings. If you want to use GD2 instead then under global options in admin set your processor to gd2.

Check the Admin menu, Chuck is right about the mogrify.
PhotoPost Administration Menu > Administration > Edit Config
The last setting is mogrify.
(If you have shell access)
$shell > locate mogrify
[root@air175 ~]# locate mogrify
[...]
/usr/local/bin/mogrify
/usr/local/include/magick/mogrify.h
/usr/local/man/man1/mogrify.1
[...]
[root@air175 ~]#
I use the one from GD2, which is /usr/local/bin/mogrify
I believe that is correct. Just check where your mogrify is and put the right path in.

Beautiful! Thanks so much. Now can you tell me what to put in the header path so that my logo/banner will appear at the top of each gallery page? Thanks. Kelley.

You should know the header path, silly!
From what you gave in the first post, I believe it's:
/services/webpages/a/l/allthingsvisual.biz/public/photopost/header.htm
Admin settings > Global Options
You have to set the files to 777 (CHMOD) I believe to be able to edit them through the admin panel.
Hope I helped!

sorry to be so technically challenged, but this still is not working for me. I don't see where I am supposed to input the 777 or the 666.

Did you not set permissions on directories and files when you installed the application?
You via the header.htm file in your ftp client right click and use CHMOD or properties and set permissions to 666

Hi Chuck - the support staff at Register.com did the install for me. I called them tonight and they walked me through changing the header.htm and stylesheet permissions to 666. I then went back to photopost and put the path in the header file. when I hit save changes, the screen turned white and all I see is powered by photopost. I called Register.com back and they said I better talk to you about it because they are not sure what to do. Can you help me with this? Thanks. Kelley.

hi chuck - here's what we did. I went into my account through Register.com and accessed the file manager for my website - www.allthingsvisual.biz. I selected public files - then photopost - then stylesheets and header.htm. In both areas I changed the permissions to 666 (according to Register.com I do this by selecting R & W in the owner, group, and other categories. Then I hit set to perm. I went back to allthingsvisual.biz/photopost and at that point everything still looked fine - I went into global options and entered http://allthingsvisual.biz/photopost/header.htm in the header file path. I hit save changes and the screen went white. I called Register.com support back and they looked at my photopost file from their end and they said everything still seems to be set up correctly.
any idea what I did wrong?
Thanks, Kelley

well you can rename your header.htm file to header.old and see if your site comes back. You did only set the css files to 666 not the stylesheets directory right?

chuck - I put both header and stylesheets to 666 - I asked Register.com support if we could change it back to what it was originally but they didn't know what that was. I can't get into photopost to change it - all I get is a white screen. Kelley.

Since you just installed have you tried dropping the database and reinstalling? It is quite unclear of the steps you did to break this since your unsure yourself on your exact actions

I guess I can reinstall - but I'm not sure how to do that - a support person at Register. com did it for me the first time, but they really aren't supposed to and I'm not sure if I can do it. Are there instructions somewhere? Did I get a physical package from photopost or was this all done through download- I don't remember. Thanks. Kelley
