Private galleries no show

Hi,

I have been playing around with my personal galleries and i have just created a 'private' gallery, uploaded pics to it and everything seems fine.

However, when i log out and log back in as a test user to test it out, i can see no link to this private gallery at all. I have done a search on here and found that there is supposed to be a 'lock.gif'. I have looked on my server and indeed the image is there in my 'gallery/images folder' but its not showing up on my showgallery page.

I have deleted my cookies etc but still cant get it to show.

Any ideas?

If you log out and log in with a user who does not have access to your personal galleries by you giving them the url and password there is no way they are going to see them

That is why they are private

I believe the lock thing went out a while back.

lol ahh silly me, yeah i can see how that would work.

I just assumed that when someone viewed the showgallery page if there were any private galleries there, they would be marked as 'locked' or something and you would have to input a password to enter them.

So what is the lock.jpg for then, is it not used at all?

We left it there and commented out the code in showgallery.php for those who really wanted it. You can comment out the continue; and uncomment the following two lines if you want the lock.

We also use it in other cases.

Brillant, i have just experimented with that small code change, and that is excatly how i would like it.

I uncommented the 2 lines in showgallery.php, but still it dosent work, i only see a private gallery with no thumbnail & when i click on it it takes me to a user profile page. I think when a private album is clicked it should take the user to a password area when the password is entered they can see the gallery.
