Choosing categories when uploading

Is it possible to put multiple dropdowns (or whatever they are called) to uploading page? I will have so many top/sub/sub/subcategories that it would be much easier if one could choose the top level category from the first box, it's subcategory from the 2nd box, etc. Can this be done?

Not specifically how the software was designed but you may feel free to hack the code should you know how.
