Copying subcategories

Hi, is it possible to make multiple identical subcategories to all categories at the same time or do I have to make them one by one to every category?

If there's no user interface for creating these multiple categories, can one just insert the categories into the pp_categories table? Otherwise the pp_categories table columns seem self-explanatory, but what's the purpose of the "children" column? Where is it used and what happens if it's not set?

Due to the nature of creating the actual data categories you need to create one at a time
