Disable Thumbnails and show real image

I own a userbox forum which means the all the images are 125x50 and I have no need for thumbnails, is there a way to disable them and show the real image? The reason for this is the thumbnails don't show the animation.

There really is no way to not do a thumbnail. You can set in admin upload options to not save medium and large images and set your thumbnail size to 125

The problem is the thumbnail doesn't keep the pictures animation which makes it look completely unappealing.

Oops, my mind must of wondered off while I was typing, I meant animation.

well I dont know much about gif animations or how they are different that regular gifs to be honest.
