Ordering pictures

I'm sure I saw a way of doing this but can't seem to find it any more.

A user is keen to present his pictures in a particular order - can this be controlled by the user?

There is a manage photos link under the user profile in the gallery to sort their photos

Yes I saw that, but I believe it only offers the options of sorting by file name or title. I thought I saw a panel that let you order pictures using numbers?

I was probably imagining things - but it would be a usefulf facility.
