# sub cat on index page

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what setting(s) I must change to have only 1 level of sub cat displayed on the index page

http://www.scrapgalaxy.com/photopost/index.php

For example under I would like to display:

Scrapbooking > Events and NOT Scrapbooking > Events > Bdays / Weddings .....

I am a little on the tired side and is probably something very simple

Thanks

You can set in Admin => Index Options the catdepth to 0 or 1 or 2 whatever you wish

Depth (number of levels) of categories to display.

I thought maybe I was going crazy but it appears not, I tried this and currently have this options set to 1.

My interpretation is 1 = only shows First level ie on my site

Scrapbooking(0) > Events(1) > Weddings (2)

However it does not matter what I change this setting to it simply displays them ALL.

Got any suggestions?

No mods installed, no hacks done

No 1 is first level of subcats on the index. 0 would display just the top level cats.

I show you have yours set to 2

Hi Check thanks for the responses,

I currently have

Admin > Index options > Depth (number of levels) of categories to display = 0

On the index page it displays all categories and sub categories.

I have tried changing the depth to 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and there is no change in the display.

You can disregard,

I just realized the categories themselves were set to override the forum default and were displaying 3 sub categories.

thanks
