Images in Queue

I have searched and not found anything,

I have a disk space limit set to 10 mb fo registered users, in testing with a registered user account I upload 2 4mb photos for a total of 8 mb.

I thne upload another 4 mb photo which generates an error saying they are over their alotted disk space.

Now they have 1 image in queue and their disk space usage is 12mb. If they delete one of their previous photos it drops back to 8 but the 3rd photo doestn show up. It is in their upload folder though and is still counting against their disk space.

How can they manage the queue? I have looked everywhere to see where they can delete the queue, upload the queue, add the photo to their gallery.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Andy

You can not really delete the queue as its a photo they uploaded but when they try to upload and it fails it should delete

Thanks for the reply.

I am not trying to delete the queue as an admin. I have a test account setup that I am using to test the functionality of the forum and photo gallery.

So as a user I am seeing that after I uploaded the 3rd photo which put me over the file space limit it tells me that I am out of space and puts that photo in queue. Thats fine but as a user how can I manage my queue? I have deleted my previous 2 photos which should allow me to finish that 3rd photo in the queue but it just sits there. And when I delete all my photos the queue photo is still taking my file space even though I have no photos in my gallery.

I have tried checking the box for "Skip upload and process the files already in your upload directory" but it doestn seem to do anything.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

Files that are over quotas should be deleted by the software that I see are you saying they are not?

It seems that way. Are there any settings that aaffect it?

You can either try my test account (PM me for info) or go to my photo post gallery and register and try it, registered users get 10mb so a couple large high quality photos will fill it up quickly.

I never said I had an uploading issue, please reread my original post to see my issue. You only uploaded 2 photos that are 234KB Did you happen to see that there is 1 photo in the queue and that over 5 MB is used up when there are no photos in the gallery??

Here is the summary again. Registered users get 10mb of space

When they upload a photo that puts them over their limit it tells them that and doesnt place the photo in their gallery but yet leaves it in the upload folders and places it in this so called queue. Their file space total will reflect the file as well displaying say 13mb of space taken.

If they delete other photos or ALL their photos it frees up space but still is showing space used by that photo setting in the queue.

Does that make the issue more clear??

So change that line of code? what does it fix?

Does it correct the issue from happening or just change the way something is displayed?

I made the change and it still displays the space being used.

I dont think the space will change until the uploaded file is gone, I could delete it but the point is that it got stuck there in queue, I dont want to have to delete users photos in the future when a file is stuck in the queue.

Whats the purpose of the Queue if it doesnt do anything? I would think you would be able to delete the queue or upload queue.

Remember you can not upload a file over 2mb or it is dropped. Your PHP must be setup to allow big files. You can remove the file if you want the edit I noted is to make sure the space is reported correctly

Photopost doesnt allow photos over 2mb to be uploaded????

Under that test account I uploaded two 3 or 4 mb files succesfully before getting to the 3rd file which was 5mb and then that one got stuck in queue because of the file space limit.

My PHP allows either 6 or 8 MB files and I do not have a file size limit set in PhotoPost.

File Size aside, I would assume this is going to happen with small 500K files also, just keep uploading until the limit is reached and the last one that goes over gets stuck in queue??

I deleted your two test photos, currently the test account has no visible photos but the file space stills reads about 5MB being used because of that file in the upload directory.

Photopost will allow bigger files if your server settings allow it. So it would appear your PHP settings are not correct. Link to PHP?

I appreciate all the help Chuck but your starting to not make any sense to me. First you tell me:

"Remember you can not upload a file over 2mb or it is dropped."

And I reply back saying I have succesfully upload several files over 3 or 4 MB in size, PHP info states max Post Size = 8 MB Maximum Upload Size = 20 MB

Uploading isnt the issue, it has to do with the filespace limit and how Photopost is handling the last file that is uploaded that reaches the peak file space limit. It tells the user that they are over file space and doesnt allow the photo to be added to their data directory but doesnt remove it from the upload directory. It thens sets there in queue using even more space.

It appears there is no way for a user to manage it then, even if they delete photos in their gallery to free up space they can't tell that photo in the queue to upload again or get out of the queue.

From what I see there is no file in the uploads directory cause Photopost does not process it. It the file is dropped as I have stated then your PHP is timing out because the file is too big and it remains in your queue. Thus it has not bearing here that you can upload a 3 or 4 mb file you can not upload a 5 MB one. Now Photopost works fine that I am seeing except you can not upload that 5 mb file. Not much our program can do about that. You can safely delete it but you need to do some testing to see what your server handles or doesnt handle.

There is no way to manage something that PHP is dropping which means our program can not see it or process it. I am taking for granted you have setup your server correctly to upload larger files. I also asked for a link to your PHP to see how it is set before with no response.

Here is a link for the PHP Info http://www.jeepjamboree.us/info.php

I succesfully uploaded two files in Photopost just now, one was 5.2 Mb and one was 6.75 MB

I know there was a file in the uploads directory for the tes tuser because I have ftp access and looked right at it. I even provided the link to it and it would load.

I have since deleted it so it wont work now. The test user account has no photos I am going to go upload some files and use all the file space and then the last file that will reach the limit I will make sure it is only a few hundred KB and then we'll see what happens.
