No watermark when use imagemagick

I was getting a lot of "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of..." errors so I decided to install and use imagemagick instead of GD2.
Imagemagick works with no problems but I have noticed that watermarking new images is not working. If I switch back to GD2 watermarking is working, so the problem has to do with imagemagick.

Any suggestions?

with imagemagick the watermark must be a gif image usually and GD a png

Do you have permanent watermarking set to yes in watermark options?

Do you have set in edit categories watermarking permission set per usergroup?

I convert .png to .gif and now everything is OK
