Disabling question and Thumbnail question

I need help on accomplishing the following:
  1. Disabling a video's "Download this video" link that shows below the video when viewing it.
  2. Have the gallery not crop the multimedia thumbnail images I am uploading
Thanks!

1. There is no link when viewing the video only is a link when no player is active. You can discuss code mods in the code mod forums

2. Photopost does not make multimedia thumbnails at all so I am lost here

To be more specific, when I upload a picture or the thumbnail to be used for a video, the preview (within a gallery) for it is cropped showing only the center of the image. Is there a way to disable this cropping when the picture thumbnail is being viewed within a gallery?

Once I accomplish this, is there a special setting I need to enable/disable? Because I redownloaded 5.5 and uploaded the changed files and it seems to still be doing it, unless I missed one of the chnanged files I should have replaced...

Thanks

No cropping of thumbnails if you use the current files. image-inc.php is the specific changed file for that
