How is email sent through photopost?

Hi,

I have a few problems with the E-card and send gallery link feature. It seems a few places are not getting the emails sent.

I can send emails from the server in question to problem, it also has an SPF record and reverse DNS works out.

I am wondering if it uses PHP Mail? And if so, does it use the "nobody" user? This might cause some of the really picky filters to get rid of it.

I have a University of Alberta address that basically rejects everything! 4 years of school and not one spam message. But I can send emails to it through a regular client using the same mail server. Is there a way to have Photopost use an external SMTP server? Or even localhost?

Our application uses php mail string. We use the email in global options you place as the admin email to be the sender
