How to show Recent Photos only on the main Gallery page?

I like the recent photos idea, but I don't want them to show up when viewing sub-categories.

Is there a way to leave it on only for the main gallery page, but turn it off and only display the latest photos in subcategories?

Yes under Admin => Show Photo Options set NO to the option to display features.
