I need to automate adding photos to my galleries

I have all my photos in a series of directories and subdirectories and i want to create a script to enter the category names and then bulk upload my photos. I was thinking of setting up like this in photopost

main category
actresses
a(by first name)
-different actresses
b(by first name)
-different actresses

my folders look like this
actresses
actress name folder
-photos and web pages in this folder
actress name folder
-phpos and web pages in this folder

could i call uploadphoto.php and append the folder information ?

and do you have any idea how to add new categories and subcategories with a function call?

You are free to create whatever script your capable of writing.

I will tell you in a support manner how bulkuploading works. You as admin of course would have created already all your categories. You can then on upload page pick the category you want to upload to then hit skip upload and process files in your directory. Below in bulk options specify the direct server path with images you want to upload to it. Note this can not have subdirectories etc this must be the absolute true path to images. You can then hit submit to process images and see the thumbs and enter titles and descriptions or you can check bypass approval and submit to walk away and let photos process unassisted if you dont want to enter titles or descriptions

Does that mean that the pictures in my server will be all jumbled?

My apologies. I have been searchin all evening trying to figure out the batch upload because I amnot gettin it to work. I wanted to use subdirectories but I just saw your post above.

How can I batch upload pics but make sure that on my server they are in specific folders?

In Photopost you create categories and you can then use the bulkupload to upload photos to those categories.

To use bulkupload you change your upload directory to the directory you want to upload from and hit the skip upload checkbox on upload page and bulkupload should take over

Thank you much. I was missing the "skip upload" part. It works great now. Thanks
