How do i....bulk upload from a directory

I had to do a fresh installation becuase the upgrade didn't work. so i have all these photos that i'd like to put back in the gallery, however...everytime i tell it the specific photo backup directory it acts like it is uploading, then it shows me the category after words with nothing in it.

the permissions on the folder are 777 as i've thought i tried everything.

Is there files in that directory?

The files need to be in that specific directory it does not read subdirectories within a directory.

Bulkupload still works in this version as well. Nothing has changed in that regard it will look for photos in the directory you specify in the bulk options. Your clicking the skip upload checkbox on the upload page right?

Yes. like i said it goes like its doing it, says processing thumbnails, then takes me to the category with nothing there. no errors or anything, otherwise i wouldn't be so lost.

If nothing is processed then there are no files within that directory you are stating to process. I know of several users who tend to expect the program to look into subdirectories is this your case?

Example of your photopost url and directory where there is photos? Is that directory as well 777?

drwxrwxrwx 5 nobody nobody 4096 Sep 23 15:19 data
drwxrwxrwx 34 nobody nobody 4096 Jul 27 11:23 data.bak

The directory the images are in is data.bak, and subfolders, NOW before you go and point out again...that it doesn't search subfolders, i'm not doing that i'm specifying i'm just making sure you understand everything that is going on. Notice the permissions.

Make sure your server path is correct view the true path in PHPINFO in admin

Unable to read the format of file: /home/dcevoclub/gallery/data/500/medium/8468Gonipora5.jpg

Basically before we worry about bulkuploads you need to get uploads working in general

ok so the main issue was the thumbs directory was missing. but....now that its there the bulk upload only uploads 36 of the 1000+ in that directory. all have 777 and all have correct permissions.

Now it works for me you reset your perms again or something

I would suggest you try your bulkupload again on one of your cats and make sure the directory are 777

Uploads now appear to be working as before you could clearly see your thumbnail was not there and my upload failed but now works

nevermind bulk upload still not working...it took only those 36. no others. purged the 36 and it still won't grab more.

Ran these two commands:

[root@phre2 gallery]# chmod -R 777 data
[root@phre2 gallery]# chmod -R 777 data.bak

Then did bulk upload as shown below
Attached Images
File Type: png sc1.PNG (91.3 KB, 5 views)
File Type: png sc2.PNG (55.5 KB, 3 views)
File Type: png sc3.PNG (27.7 KB, 2 views)

like i said before your post... the thumbs directory was NOT THERE. that was what was causing that issue, however bulk uploads are still not work please see post above this one.
