| Bulk Zip issues, read through the forum and still no go
Hey there everyone, new Photopost user but experienced admin/user of programs like this. With that said...
I have tried uploading a zip file (8 meg) and it said it was successful, but nothing ever shows up via my pic panel or on the FTP. I've tried setting all the selections differently and it just won't do it, although it says it uploads fine (not PHP timing out).
I also tried uploading it via FTP to my "/home/username/public_html/photopost/uploads/1" directory, and using the lower selection within "upload photos" to get it to process, and it still won't do anything, it says it works, but it never does. All my folders are set to 777 as well.
I tried just uploading a normal picture and that works fine. I also tried uploading 8 or so pictures to that upload folder and it ran through those fine, although it did give me a PHP error while processing that said : "Warning: exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/username/public_html/photopost/image-inc.php on line 74" but it still added them.
Any ideas what I may be missing/not doing right?

well two things.
Try switching your image processor in global options to GD2 since exec is disabled on your system and you can not use imagemagick as your processor.
Next to upload images over the PHP max uploadable size you need to alter your php settings this is limited to 2mb usually.
Also in Admin Options do you have this set to yes
Do you want to allow ZIP uploads?

Hi Chuck,
I already have it set to GD2. I also have it set to allow zip uploads in admin.
I run my own dedicated server and have PHP tweaked out to allow larger than normal uploads so I am good there. Plus, if it were PHP timing out woldn't it time out instead of saying it finished and was processed or no?

well we dont use exec in gd2 so you sure you have this set to gd2 in global options? Make sure you also dont have jpegtran or jhead filled out in admin global options either.
You can also link phpinfo here so we can see what your setup looks like.

Heya Chuck, I am sending you a link to my PHPINFO page. I just bought and installed another Photopost and can't get this sucker to do a zip upload, and I am under my file size limit. PM coming...
EDIT: I see you don't accept PM - I will email it.

Ok your Spam Arrest thingy isn't working, rather the spam arrest site isn't working. Just sits there forever and won't verify.
Here's the page: http://www.ultimatemetal.com/phpinfo.php - do you see anything that would disallow zip uploading?
Would having exec() disabled prevent the zip upload from working ?

Having exec of course makes mogrify jpegtran and jhead unusuable yes
You can not upload a large file your max upload is 2mb so of course it is dropped.
You need to alter your PHP settings to allow larger UPLOADS by increasing the max upload memory limit and max execution times

Never PHP timed out on me just didn't do anything. I think the zip was like 1.x meg. I will try another (under 2 meg zip) just in case to see what it does.

Well, I stand corrected Chuck (Don't you love it when knuckleheads say this)! I tried one a hair under 2 meg and it worked perfect.

I have the same problem .. i have php upload size is 600Mb as well as the setup inside the PP .. it said successfully uploaded but nothing is there..the zip file is deleted after .. on my Photogallery2 this is done easily . this gave me hard time ever ..
if zip file that has only 2 meg in size, we don't need zip uploading ofcourse... my zip file is 200 megs ..
thanks for a suggestion to set this thing up.. i bought this long time ago, but never actually have it worked well.. either miss this or miss that ..
thanks
