Change default number of images shown?

ie the "Per page" setting.

We run a competition, which occasionally just spills onto 2 pages (at 20 per page)....Which means that those on the second page occasionally get missed / less votes.

Can we change the default from 20?

if you set a category to contest mode the perpage is set to 10000 therefore use contest mode and not ratings
