| Quick question, think I know the answer but...
If I delete a category, will I actually lose those photos? I mean, aren't they going to stay in that member's gallery even if I take down the specific category they're in?
Thanks,
Kathy

If you delete a category all photos will be deleted
You can bulkmove all the photos in that category to another category using bulk move

I'm trying to do that, but it keeps hanging up on me and I am unable to complete the move...guess I'll keep trying.

or I get a message like this one:
/home/digiscr/public_html/photopost/data/548/thankful.jpg -> /home/digiscr/public_html/photopost/data/500/thankful.jpg
Copy of the file failed. Operation cancelled.
What does that mean?

Have you verified your data directories are set to 777 at every level? that looks like a permissions error.

The data folder is set to 777, folders 1 and 2 inside it are set to 755, all the others inside, including both the ones referenced in that error are set to 777.

Okay, I changed the only two that weren't 777 and now all of the files inside the data director are 777 as well as the folder itself. I still get the same error:
/home/digiscr/public_html/photopost/data/548/thumbs/smile-for-the-camera.jpg -> /home/digiscr/public_html/photopost/data/500/thumbs/smile-for-the-camera.jpg
Copy of the file failed. Operation cancelled.
Now what?

Same thing with another gallery I'm trying to move:
/home/digiscr/public_html/photopost/data/559/thumbs/ohboy.jpg -> /home/digiscr/public_html/photopost/data/500/thumbs/ohboy.jpg
Copy of the file failed. Operation cancelled.

Chuck, can you please check your PMs again? I really need to get this stuff moved this week and just can't get this thing to cooperate. I have the PM to you in my sent items folder.

Well, I'd say you have an issue with vB, then, you can look in my Sent Items folder yourself if you'd like. I've sent it again, hopefully you'll get it this time.

You need to set the data directories ALL LEVELS DOWN TO 777
Look at your error. You may have data and the numeric categories set to 777 but it would seem your medium thumbs and mini directories are set to 755 still

no, chuck, they're not. Would you like cpanel access so that you can see? The inside directories inside the numeric categories (medium, mini and thumbs) are also all set to 777.

certain files do not exist or are corrupt so you need to in admin run under scan database a rebuild all thumbnails which will rebuild thumbs and get rid of any bad entries in your photos table. Then your bulk move should work fine
