| Bulk Upload will drive me creazy!
Hi,
First of all, I couldn't find a clear link in the Upload Photo screen to do a Bulk Upload
Second, I noticed in the normal (single) photo upload screen http://www.barca4ever.com/gallery/uploadphoto.php
if I left all fields empty and click submit, it will direct me to the Bulk Upload screen (Magic)!! http://www.barca4ever.com/gallery/bu...no&dthumbs=yes
Moreover, the Bulk Upload screen doesn't come with empty fields, its full of Photos and I have only the option to move them to a category I want (You can check a creen shot in the following picture) http://www.m500m.com/up/uploads/dc2957db86.jpg I noticed that if I login with a normal (not my admin user) user account (that never posted any photo before) and do the last cenario, I didn't end-up with bulk upload screen!
Started here http://www.barca4ever.com/gallery/up...to.php?cat=502
Directed to Bulk Upload (But the screen will not be shown, I copied the link from the address bar) http://www.barca4ever.com/gallery/bu...ll=no&dthumbs=
It'll immediatly re-directed to Show Gallery http://www.barca4ever.com/gallery/sh...ry.php?cat=502
Login information to my gallery, you can find it in the following post: http://www.photopost.com/forum/showp...39&postcount=3
With the login information I gave you, you'll be directed to Bulk Upload successfully, becuase this user posted 1 images before
Note that my gallery is in arabic, so good luck
I can't even find an option in admin section to disable bulk upload!

Bulk Upload is only going to show for admin as only an admin has bulkupload specifically since it requires ftp access.
If you do a single file upload it will simple upload photo and process.
If you do multiple file uploads or have any unprocessed images in your uploads directory or any extra fields in the category your uploading to it will forward to bulkupload screen for anyone to process the multiple images
I hope this simplifies things for you to know what is going on.

1. Okay on the upload page look at the bottom Admin Bulkupload Options this explains things more. You need to FTP images to your uploads directory and hit the skip upload to process images checkbox.
2. who knows I am merely explaining the avenues why one would find themselves on the bulkupload page. If you upload more than one image, have optional categories turned on, define extra fields for a category in admin => edit categories or any files exist in the uploads directory you will be forwarded to bulkupload and not do the uploadphoto quick upload which is for only one photo.
3. see above

Chuck S, you are our hero Quote: |
If you upload more than one image
| You mean by Bulk upload? Quote: |
have optional categories turned on
| You mean additional categories turned on? Quote: |
or any files exist in the uploads directory
| What might be the reason "other than ftp" for files to be exists in the upload directory? Quote: |
you will be forwarded to bulkupload and not do the uploadphoto quick upload which is for only one photo
| I'll be forwarded to bulk upload "only" when I submit the upload photo form without selecting any photo from my PC!
In other words, those pending photos, I'll never know about them unless I submit empty form in upload photo screen! Correct me if I was mistaken.
Currently when I click submit photo, I'll be forwarded to bulk upload screen with 6 photos showing there! What could be the reason if (additional categories turned off/no extra fields for any category/no bulk uploaded was used before)?
BTW, those 6 photos, I remember that I tried before to upload them but I don't remember what happenend at that time.
Thanks for you support man |

exactly you have 6 images to process so you go to bulkupload. Now process those go back and upload one photo you will see you dont go to bulkupload unless you meet one of the other conditions I outlined

3. possibly failed uploads or user aborts the process

3. possibly failed uploads or user aborts the process
| Okay, Lets say that there was 500 photos failed to be uploaded (by my users), is there's a way for me (as an admin) to delete those failed uploads?
Because they're in my server but not in my gallery (so no need for them)!
Thanks again for your great support |

There would never be 500 failed uploads but you can surely go in through ftp randomly and clear the uploads directory

Thats a users upload directory which correspondes to their userid. You can delete those directories leaving the uploads directory empty. If there directory does not exist it is recreated
