I checked the vB Database, under my user id, hascustomavatar is set to 0. I am using a custom avatar in vB.

Also, not sure if this is part of the problem or not, but when I'm in the PP admin cp under edit settings-> forum settings, there is nothing there except a save changes button.

well I think your problem is that hascustomavatar is not 1 which it should be if you have a custom avatar.
The avatar your using should be this case in our vb3.php file Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Yes though in Admin => Forum Settings you should have settings for the forum being your integration type forum user whether or not to use the forum style. If you select all options are you able to see the forum url setting?

Not sure if you remember but I had problems when I upgraded to the latest version. I had just converted from IPB to vB and you had me re-run all of the upgrades except one
