Images exceeding max filesize will not resize

I've searched the forum for this answer but can't find anything that works. I'm using PhotoPost Pro.

Photos exceeding the file size are rejected with this message: DSC01088.JPG (exceeds filesize limit)

Here are my settings:

Under "upload photo options", I've got max width at 800 pixels, max height at 600, with Trigger set at 500.

Where it says: "If photo upload width or height exceeds maximums, resize upload down to max dimensions?" I've got that set to "yes."

Under usergroups, I've set "members" max file sizes to 1000 kb and max disc space at 3000.

Shouldn't PhotoPost be automatically resizing this image down to an acceptable size? What am I missing in the settings? I've read a few posts where the photos are "disappearing," this is not the case, every time I just receive the same message and the file won't upload. I'm using PhotoPost in conjunction with Invision Power Board v2.1.6 and PHP Version 4.3.10 (apache).

Please help!

In Admin => Usergroup Options what do you have for filesize options in there. This is where you set per usergroup the maximum filesize. The error you get does not have anything to do with dimensions of the file but its physical size.

I've set "members" max file sizes to 1000 kb and max disc space at 3000.

But regardless of this setting, isn't the photo supposed to automatically resize if it exceeds the max file size?

The max file size relates to what you have set here:

Edit Settings > Upload Photo Options

Max allowable image width in pixels

Max allowable image height in pixels

In other words ...
If photo upload width or height exceeds maximums, resize upload down to max dimensions? - Yes

... the photo will resize down to the above settings

edit ... you might want to increase the total disk space allowed by adding another 0 ... your choice

Your max filesize is set in usergroup options not upload options as your thinking. Your restricting the filesize not file dimensions which is totally something different as MJM told ya above. If the file is larger in filesize than your restriction then the upload is halted.

So as I understand it... the only time the photo is "resized" is when the height and width of the photo exceed the height and width restrictions. If the filesize of the photo exceeds the filesize restrictions, the photo is not "resized," instead the upload is halted. I'll give it a try. Thanks very much!

EXACTLY filesize and file dimensions are two separate things
