| Can Custom Fields be propagated to Child Categories?
Hi,
Given requirements of my site, I have to define custom fields for categories, beyond the extra fields provided.
Seems like the custom fields are not propagating to child categories, and I have to define them all over again for each child category...
Am I missing something?
Thanks again for your help!

| Custom Fields - Followup
Hi Chuck,
Code in adm-cats.php matches what you suggest, however, custom fields still don't propagate to child categories...
I can send you my admin login if you are interested in taking a look...

Chuck,
I am reproducing code from my adm-cats.php, seems to be the exact same code as what you asked me to incorporate... But custom fields still don't propagate Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

Your very post above shows how my code is not the same as yours so I would suggest you go back to my very first post and just do what was suggested |

| Custom Fields Propagation (Issues Persist)...
Dear Chuck,
This feature is the life-blood for my site (to ensure I don't keep typing custom fields for each of my hundreds of sub-cats), and I really, really would appreciate your help with getting this resolved...
I replaced the lines with the code you suggested, and re-uploaded adm-cats.php. Regular Extra fields get propagated, but Custom Extra fields don't still...
Here's how I tested it:
(a) Add a test category, define the extra fields, define a custom field
(b) Ass a sub-cat to above category. When you edit this sub-cat, it shows that no fields get propagated yet from parent.
(c) Go back to test category (parent), scroll to bottom, check the "apply these settings and permissions to all children" check-box, and Save Changes.
(d) now when I go back to sub-cat, I see that the extra field definitions have been propagated, but custom field hasn't...
What am I still doing wrong? Should I email my adm-cats.php to you? Your help is much appreciated!!
Satya

You need to replace the code with the code I posted. If you look closely the code your posting is not the same as what I posted. You can email me your file if you wish.
