Question A Few "How Do I" Questions...

I just purchased and installed PhotoPost tonight (Well it's kinda morning now but u know what I mean) and I have a few questions in order to get things looking how i would like..
  1. When viewing a photo/image is there a way to take out the "see this users gallery" link? And the IP address that shows up beside it (not sure if that just shows up cause Im the admin or not).
  2. When viewing a photo/image, is there a way to use html in the "Photo Description" field? I need/want to add a text link to another file on my site (to download a zip file). If not, is there anything else you can reccommend to help me do something of the sort?
  3. This is a weird one... I am using vBulletin with a custom skin/template... The board uses one XML file... I have a slightly different (but truly important) that my CMPS uses... They are both installed on forum however, I have set them to where CMPS can only use it's XML file and the Forum can only use it's XML file (members do not have the option to change this) PhotoPost is automatically using the one for the Forum but I NEED it to use the one the CMPS is using... Please tell me there is a way to make this happen =0)
  4. When looking at the index of PhotoPost, is there a way to change the word "Catagory" to something else... I'm sure this is done in one of the include files or whatnot, if so, can you point me to the right one hehe

I'm sorry if I confuse you - I'm not very good at "technical terms" *blush* Thankyou in advance for any help you can offer! It is geatly appreciated!! Ok, I'm off to bed - "my new toy" kept me up all night LOL

Nite Nite, Bree

1. The IP only shows up to admins correct.

2. allowing html would require code modification since its breaking a security feature but regular html links are converted automatically with our convert_markups function

3. Usually styleid is changed by passing styleid in the url of the program which is what happens when a user changes styles. I have never attempted to hard code things like this so I can not say for sure maybe in header-inc.php place something like this

$styleid = 2;

4. To change the wording in the languages directory of the Photopost directory edit the file english.php and change the wording to your desire

1. Thats good about the IP.. had me worried hehe About the "see this users gallery" link... was there a way to disable that?

2. Dah me, I didn't even think about how that would effect security *blush*... The addresses to the zip files are very long and I really don't want to display them.. would rather attach like a "CLICK HERE TO DL" link LOL Anyother place I could do this? It would need to be a different link for every single image and of course convienent to the member. What goes to what type thing.

3. Will try that.. If it doesn't work tho.... I read about using own headers and footers - that's even a better idea as the second id thingy that I am trying to use is also the same as the rest of my site so I already have headers and footers and such to do that... Is there a way to make PP use those files BUT to work with the Forum styleid for the body (Like tables and stuff - how they would look)?

4. Simple enough - thankyou =0)

Thankyou Chuck, for all your help! I'll probably have more questions while I'm trying to make everything perfect - I pray I don't wear out my welcome or get on your nerves too too much..

Thank again,
Always -Bree

I did not purchase the I guess you would call it a license - to remove the PhotoPost copyrights... and I'm not looking to do so.. BUT... I would like to move the copyright information to my footer (with my style, there's a neat place for all the copyright information)... I know how to add it there of course, but where would I remove it from the page itself so that I didn't have it in two places right ontop of eachother =0) I hope I explained that correctly..

PS I didn't bother with trying to change the styleid to 2 but I did get the second idea I had to work =0) Go me hehehe..

Always -Bree

EDIT: I've added it to the footer already so you can see what I'm talking about... wanting to take the top one out.. here's he link: http://www.smnlikdat.com/Gallery/index.php Ignore the mess, I've got a lot of work to do hehehe

You can move it to the footer correct as long as its the same and is viewable on every page of the gallery

As far removing the user gallery link edit your showphoto template and remove it

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
The style stuff is either use the forum header footer and style or use Photpost's system normally. Like I said I have never played with this idea since I like my gallery looking like my forum. We do have a modification questions for stuff like this that falls outside product support.
