This is exactly what I need! I think I am trying to go from
vBadvanced Gallery v1.0.1 (vB 3.5) to PhotoPost vBGallery v1.0.2

But I do not understand some of the parameters if you could eplain.

on the setup page: I am not sure how to find this information. Ihave two databases on the server one for old VB forum with the Vadvanced Gallery & the new VB forum with the newest VbGallery.

Server Path to vbag Data Directory
Server Path to Photopost Data Directory

and from above instructions:

In Admin => Edit Categories view the cats list and hit save. Scan down each parent in sortcats and hit save. This reinitializes the children count to show children of parent cats. Very Important

I did this and it changed nothing I could not see my cats but that may be becasue I left those two paths empty. Also when I ran the script (without the 2 paths) I got errors

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/xxxx/public_html/gallery/vbag.php on line 151 and 654

can you help? thanks so much!

The import script works fine if you input the proper information and do the cleanup

I have personally imported many vbgallery sites and one of which trackpads site was 380,000 images and numerous categories.

This import script is a script to Import vbgallery to Photopost Pro

What your trying to do has nothing to do with an import script. You need to use the vbgallery upgrade script and updated your 1.01 to 1.02. You can not use this script for what your trying to do

So if I follow you correctly I install the old data to my new database and then run upgrade portion?

Now when I imported the forum I used Impex and it reassigned all the userid's... will this align the gallery userID's to the new forum Id's? Thanks

well you need to upgrade your sites forum and the vbgallery with there own upgrade scripts. Your not permitted to install either vbulletin or the photopost products a second time without purchasing a second license. Thus if you follow the normal upgrade procedure for both products you will not have any issue.

Unless you're importing from a different forum software to vBulletin, you shouldn't be using IMPEX to import vBulletin data. It changes all thread IDs, post IDs, user IDs, etc, so none of your previous links will be correct.

A simple backup/restore should be used.

The import script doesn't take the personal categories users created and convert them to My Albums. All the user's images just get lumped into their Member Gallery.

I move moved this posts from the vbgallery to Photopost import thread since this discussion has nothing to do with that specific import script
