| How to have unregistered users view all pics?
I really don't care for user registrations, but i still would like to allow them to see all the pics in all the categories. How is this done? I've set "Require users to be registered to view images?" to No, also made sure each category has a check next to "Unregistered" to allow them to view images in that category. What else is there?

If you've already set the Usergroup permissions when editing the categories then all should be left is "Edit Usergroups"; both are located in the Admin CP under "Administration". |

Hmm, the only options I see in there are:
Usergroup name Admin Access? Mod Access? Allow Uploads? Allow comments? Require Moderation? Allow edit own photos? Allow edit own posts? Allow albums? Assign Albums to Cats?
Where would the option you mention be?

hmm. that is checked. Could this have anything to do with forum integration via vB, as to why it's not working?

One thing i did notice though - my Usergroups aren't refreshing correctly with my forums software - i tried to refresh them but they're not changing. Wonder if that's the cause?

anyone? How do I get them to refresh correctly.. for example, I've changed some of the names of my user groups in vB, yet the names aren't updating in PP when I refresh forum software... wonder why? It does add new ones though, and remove them, just doesn't rename the ones that I "rename" in vB.

You would have to change the name in the photopost side to. We cache the groups already present so you dont lose all your settings. If we did a delete and repopulate alot of customers would be miffed to say the least.

What version are you using? There was a problem with usergroup refresh this quite a while back but it was fixed.

I have the latest version. Someone who knows how to fix this please let me know. The site that's running is under a members section, therefor pasworded via htaccess. Please contact me or leave an email here so I can give you access. I've looked everywhere, can't see why this is happening.

As I stated there is nothing to fix. If the usergroup already exists in the Photopost usergroups table we cache this old info so when we import new groups you do not lose all your settings. Not caching these settings would be a bug and thus if you want to change the name you need to change the name in the Photopost usergroups editor.

I'm not talking about the usergroup "fix", I want to know why people have to register to see my photos? the photopost installation is under an .htaccess file, but if the user/pass is put in, everything should show right? the file is only in the main pp directory. Ugh this is drivin me nuts.

Well I can not speak about your htaccess file or what it might do or not do.
I can tell you that Photopost in itself if you want guests to view photos you need to set this
1. In Admin => Registration Options set this to NO.
Require users to be registered to view images?
2. In Admin => Edit Categories make sure guests are allowed to view the cats.
Then guests should be able to view images without registering. If you have it set like this and images do not appear all I can say is try without your htaccess file.

I found this thread while searching for my "problem":
I want to forbid guests/not logged in to view images - but - i want to allow them to see the categories and the thumbnails though.
When I now edit the "usergroup permissions" in categories for them, they cannot see the according categories and thumbnails - I do not want that.
In earlier times there was an option
"Require users to be registered to view images?"
and I read it again in this thread - but where is it?
I to don't find it in options in PP 5.62 with vB3 integration.
Am I blind?
Thanks in advance for any hint!
