How do I... edit the coppa form?

Hello all,

First of all, being an elementary school teacher, I'm THRILLED with the Coppa option... I never knew it was out there....

Can we hear a collective "DUH!"?

My question is: How do I go about editing the form? It has a space to mail or fax to... but they're blank (of course)... how can I edit the form to meet my needs?

Thanks much!

On a related legal note... if a forum member LIES about his/her age and says he/she is OLDER than 13.... am I still liable? I can't PROVE a user is 14 or older...

Any advice on how to handle this type of thing?

Thanks!

Your not really liable in any manner anyway. Just make sure your site rules has the standard verbage most sites to passing liability back to the user

You can edit the coppa language strings in the english.php file in your languages directory and change the wording or add wording and also if needed edit the coppa templates

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for answering.

However, when I looked at english.php with Wordpad, I did notice the initial part of the form... but I didn't see the entire form. Perhaps it's a different file for which I'm looking?

You're using vBulletin Integration aren't you? If so, you need to modify vBulletin, not PhotoPost, since your users are registering through vBulletin.

Bingo yes if your using a forum integration whichever one it is then it would be located within the forum's languages phrases
