Multimedia: Uploads But Does Not Save

PHP Info:
Post Max Size = 20MB
Max Upload Size = 20MB

PhotoPost Settings:
Multimedia Upload Size = 20000KB
Multimmedia Allowed File Types = .mpeg,.mpg,.avi,.asf,.wmv,.mov,.mp3
Allow Multimedia Uploads = Yes
Embedded Multimedia = Yes
User's Max Upload Allowance = 0 (unlimited)

Storage Options: Path is below root; URL is the default setting in "/gallery/data"

The uploading of a (3MB) .wmv file goes through successfully (when I press refresh in the FTP directory I see the file). The process then asks if I want to add a thumbnail image; I click on the default "multimedia" thumbnail and it prompts me to download the video, which I do, and able to watch it locally. I continue with the process by not choosing/or choosing a thumbnail image. It processes successfully.

When I'm taken to the video I see the player with the link to download the file; I click on it and it gives me the error that the file does not exist; I press "play" and nothing happens. I then go back to FTP, click refresh and the video is no longer there (seems to have been deleted).

My allowance for uploads/posts exceed the video file size I'm trying to upload. Any thoughts why this is occuring?

*The attachment below shows the current info (even after Scan Database). It looks like the videos are there, somewhere...

*Update: It seems as if all multimedia types do not process; no matter what the size is.

Have you chmoded the directories as per the instructions?

Yes, the chmod settings are correct. In fact, during the process of the multimedia upload the file appears in the directory, as checked via FTP. It's after I choose the thumbnail image the file seems to disappear.

Regular image file types upload fine.

well you should not be prompted to download the file when your trying to upload it. That is not right. You do have marked to allow multimedia files in the upload options right?

Hey, Chuck.

The download prompt occurs if I press the thumbnail during the uploading process (second part while selecting a thumbnail). It's strange, however, that any multi-media doesn't save.

For some reason I don't have permission to send a support ticket (for any of the 3 products I've purchased). In any case, I understand that you don't accept support PM's but I'm testing the gallery on a test vB 3.6.0 RC1 board (although using my live site's forum cookies

), so it's passworded. I've sent you a PM on login details as requested.

Thanks for looking into it.

In the Admin CP and in the user's info it does show that a file of that size was uploaded; same with my video file. However, I can't seem to play either. Were you able to?

*When clicking the thumbnail I get a "404" error; the file doesn't exist in my directory. I checked the directory via FTP and cPanel and it didn't have the files in the "data" directory.

Screenshots of what I see below:

3. When I click "play" it looks for the file and within a second it goes back to "Ready"; the reason is the file isn't there anymore.
4. Video (2nd step upload process) - It is here I can download the file if I click on the thumbnail.

I have my "Path" below the root; but the URL path is set to default "/gallery/data". This may be the reason of my problem as PP is looking in the wrong path. I checked the directories of "Path" and found the media files.

I thought in Admin CP's "Image Protection" in Storage Options I need to change the Path but not the URL?

That is the issue and there is no way around it that I can see. We can trick things to work below the webroot for photos by using server path to grab the image however the embedded players need an HTTP path to the file which means it must be above the webroot.

Ahh. I knew I couldn't have gone insane, well, to the point of no return.

Well, I can use .htaccess to prevent hotlinking of the images; and there will always be a way around for people to download them even if right click is disabled so no point in going that route.

As for the Path I'll change it again above root. Thanks again Chuck for your support in the issue.
