what would happen if i did this?

what would happen if i reinstall pp over an existing pp install but insted of choosing it to be integrated i chose to use the internal pp user registration. would it mess up the existing contents and look of the photopost (which is currently integrated into vb)?

Nope would not suggest you do that cause you need to be integrated with vb to have the pictures show for the users etc.

To disconnect them you need to write a script to import your vbulletin users into photopost so you do not mess up the present system then you can make it a standalone.

i dont have any users using the gallery, i have posted all the pics myself in all the categories.

i really want to deintegrate it without loosing my existing data.

ive got it sort-of un-integrated but i cant login to the admin pannel, im stuck in the loop of back to the home page. im reading other post about this, but they all refrence being integrated with vb, which is what im trying to undo.

help is appreciated. it kind of works

As stated you need to import any users from vb to photopost users table if you want to deintegrate them. Howevery there are no scripts we have for this. This is something you would need to write.

You basically short way would be to register your admin user account and then in phpmyadmin make sure to set that user to admin userid 1 and then you can delete all usergroups under the usergroups table of Photopost except the vb 6 group and change the groupid to 5 instead of 6. You can then make sure to empty out the cookie prefix in the settings table and you should be able to login.

dont need any users to be imported. new users are going to be created.
all the pictures are purged on a weekly basis so the old users pics and going to get bumped in a few days and they dont need to edit them in the mean time.

ive got it totally working, the only thing i get is 2 mysql errors at the top of the page about pp-inc.php and i cant login to the admin pannel with the new admin user that i created.

i dumped the usergroups and users tables and the settings table as well before i re-ran the install.php. so that created a fresh admin user with fresh admin usergroups (or do i need to dump the admingroups table as well before i install?) so in all essence it should be a fresh pp just with existing data (which is what it looks like to me visually).

so then i try and login and i get stuck in the login loop. ive checked the settings in the database, everything looks ok to me.

i get 2 sql errors on the home page and 1 sql error (below) in the admin section:

Quote:
Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in photopost/adm-misc.php on line 1213
