split catagory boxes?

ok, i want the catagorys to look like this, but i cant seem to "split" the boxes,

i want it so that it has the name of the parent cat in the purple text and then a box of the cats underneath, can anyone tell me how i can do this?


i have tried doing it myself but cant seem to split them up into seperate boxes

also does anyone know how to get alternating row colours?

Yep this would indeed be a modification question which falls outside product support so hopefully someone would assist in the mod forum.

Well i had a go and to be honest with time could probable get it but chuck certainly likes to make the templates shall we say complicated to say the least lol

i think i might know how to do it, i just need the variable for the catorder number

anyone know what it is?

Basically what you would need to do is place a table break for a specific number since this prints a table row for each entry so if table row is say 7 then print this blah blah.

Never tried to do something like this so this is why we have the mod forum for things that fall outside the product support.

oops thought u was talking about the row colours,

also chuck, i dont really understand what u mean lol

should i only be editing categories.tmpl?
