5.31: Copy to additional category problems
 

I just went to the PhotoPost Gallery to upload a pic and assign it to additional categories to illustrate the following problems but you do not have this feature turned on.

Problem
- pics assigned to additional categories are duplicated in the thumbs preview filmstrip
- viewing Next/Previous continues on to duplicated pic

I can only assume that it is because you are not using this feature that you do not see how negatively this impacts the the continuity of viewing pics.

Can you please show how and where to prevent this.

I would also recommend /prefer you include this in a build as I can't think of any reason why anyone would want to have it like it is.

The developer I guess does not consider this a bug since pictures assigned to additional categories are in essense true photos. He blocks them from the recent photos block but they appear everywhere else normally. You have modified your photopost for a while now on this issue everytime you upgrade.

I gave you a while ago the code you need to add to the next previous queries in showphoto.php to alter things the way you want.

You need to add AND storecat = 0 to the prev next queries in showphoto.php

You can post further questions on modifying your code from the default supported code in the mod corner forums if you need further assistance that what I have posted as there are about 5 different queries you need to add that to.

I will ask Carole to post in the modification forums if she has a problem as the previous upgrade she had to take 2 days off work to figure this out. :(

The last thing we wish to be is a PITA about this. Our galleries are very simply laid out with practically and user friendliness the order of the day.
I do understand that everyone has different needs and wishes which may require us to make modifications.
But in this case I can\'t for the life of me figure out why the majority would want duplicated pics showing one after the other in the preview filmstrip and Next /Previous viewing.

I guess I should be posting this into the Suggestion Forum.
I\'d really like to hear from Michael and others as to why it should remain as it is, and not as is suggested.

If the PhotoPost Gallery enabled assigning pics to additional categories it could be demonstrated why leaving it as it is does not make viewing very user friendly.
We just want PhotoPost to be the BEST it can ever be.

Its been months so obviously no one has made a suggestion. Feel free to make one in the modifications forum

I\'d like to not have duplicate thumbnails... can you explain how to do this?
