Add user number to file name Awhile back (over a year ago), our version of PhotoPost would add the member number to the beginning of a filename when they uploaded their files. So for example, if user #9 uploaded a photo named "test.gif", the filename would end up being "9test.gif". The newer versions of PhotoPost don't do that anymore. How can I change it so it goes back to appending the number to the beginning of the file name? Recently we've had a few occasions when 2 members tried to each upload a photo that happened to be the same file name (at approximately the same time) -- and one member's photo ended up overwriting the other's. (So member A's photo was showing up in member B's gallery!) We're thinking if the usernumber was appended to the filename again, it would eliminate this from happening. |
If a photo is uploaded with the same name as a photo that already exists then the photo is renamed with a number prepended on the end. If you would like to prepend the userid onto files you may post questions in the mod corner on code modification as we support our files as they are distributed. |
Usually it does that -- but we've had a few instances where they uploaded the same file name at the same time -- and that's when the problem comes in. (It seems like it would be a rare occasion but it's happened several times now.) |
I haven't gotten any assistance in the Mods area, so can you please direct me to which PhotoPost file determines the filename (so I know which file I need to update)? Also, are past versions of PhotoPost available for download? Maybe if I look at the code from previous versions (where the user number was made part of the filename), I could use that to figure this out... |
There is no past code versions for download no. Most of the filenaming is within uploadphoto.php bulkupload.php and image-inc.php |
