Creating Album Parent/Category

Creating a category

I want my users to be able to create a Album Parent/Category before they can create and album. Right now they can do it but they have to trick the system in a manner of speaking. They way they have to do it now is that they have to create an album that they want to be a Album Parent/Category and then they have to create the album that they want to be under the Album Parent/Category. Then they have to go into the second album and edit it and pick the “Album Parent” that they want it to fall under.

It would be nice to make it more user friendly and being able to create “Album Parent” albums first. Or is there a better way of doing this that I do not know about?

I have not released my site as yet, just playing around with it to see what works and what does not.....

From what I see, individual photos almost clutter up the site. I'd rather see Albums display first in all categories, as the default, with individual photos displayed under them. Maybe a way to do it, but I have not been able to figure it out.

If I was designing the layout, Albums would be featured and more or less the default for posting. No reason this can't be handled in the photo upload area.

Anyway, the Album making feature should be in the upload area.

Yes you are right. Individual albums do clutter up the site. I am creating a journal web site and I want to be able to have every individual have there own album and create sub categories under it. I already have one instance of PP up and running with over 9,031 photos online. But this is another instance of PP that I want to run and I am working with online journal software. If I could get this to do what I want it to do by creating sub categories then it would work flawless together. This would be totally awesome.
