How to make direct link go to /showphoto url?

I would like to have Direct Link to go to medium pic at showphoto

For example ... showphoto.php?photo=780

and not to /data/510/pic.jpg as is currently

Help on how to do this much appreciated.

How do I edit showphoto.php so that the direct link will go to the picture in the gallery that shows the rest of the gallery so that a viewer will have somewhere else to go next after they view your picture.

We had this working this way before we upgraded to pp5.3

Thanks, that worked by editing the showphoto.tmpl
