PhotoPost doesn't play Windows Media files in FireFox

I have PhotoPost 5.3 and FireFox 1.5.0.3 but cannot play Windows Media files (embedded).

I read this page: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213 and have tried to install the ActivX plugin for FireFox 1.5.0.3 but it didn't help. Strange thing is that after the installation of ActiveX the ActiveX test page http://members.aol.com/jrzycrim01/mo...wmpaxtest.html played the videos, but my PP didn't.

I have the latest version of Windows Media Player installed. I've tried viewing wmv videos in PP on 3 different computer in FireFox, but it didn't work on any of them. I checked the WMP plugins and they are all installed correctly. I tried to change the video acceleration from full to half, didn't help. IE is not set to work in offline mode. I don't have AdBlock installed. I don't get any errors, nothing crashes, but the videos won't play.

Any sugestions? I will ask over at http://forums.mozillazine.org also but I thought that I should ask here too to check if it's a known issue, also because I cannot give a url to forums.mozillazine because my PP runs from a members area.

Thanks.

That would appear to be an issue with Mozilla as I have Firefox although not 1.503 and I embed multimedia fine

I just read somewhere that I should download this plugin: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...64/plugin.aspx (this wasn't mentioned in the mozilla forum but since everything mentioned there didn't work (although I tested everything I tried only in PhotoPost) I thought I should give it a try.

Now I can watch videos in FireFox for example on these sites:

http://news.yahoo.com/video
http://www.comedycentral.com/shows/t...es/index.jhtml

but I still can't play the wmv videos in my PhotoPost.

Just for anybody else having a problem. (i know this is an old thread but i checked it today due to having the same problem).

After going through everything that gloabalinsites has documented in this thread it turned out to be that windows media player for some reason was unable to go online to play the video.

To fix this i opened windows media and clicked on the guide, it then asks you to connect with a little link and when you do that and get the little homepage it has my media files played in FF again.

Worth a shot eh!
