Regestered Users cant upload

Hi

I have recentley had photopost installed and integrated with vbulletin and and users can register, get activated and login ok

Q1

However when users login to the forum or gallery there is no option visible to upload to their member gallery or create thier own albums!

How can they see this?

As an administrator I have all the options ok

Note: Registered users are allowed to upload photos and create albums in the admin control panel.

Q2

Is there a guide or any documentation for new users as to how to use and get the most from photopost or a URL?

Thanks in advance

Hello

If a registered user can not upload only one of two issues this can be. He is either not a registered user meaning he is awaiting email confirmation and or registered users are not given permission by you to upload

To check the permissions go to Admin => Edit Usergroups and check the permissions setup for upload comment and all the options under there. This is the most common issue I would expect this issue to be.

I've checked both these. All new users register on the forum in the normal way, they get an email to activate & when the have done that they are accepted at the forum for moderation they get another email to confirm they are registered.

They can then post on the forum. That all works fine.

I also checked your other suggestion on administering registered users on photoposts admin side. This group is allowed to upload photos and create albums, make posts etc Just dont see the options you would expect when you login

It might be an idea if you register and try yourself. I can email you the URL

Yes I would suggest you check to ensure the users are really registered. I registered an account on your site and was never sent an email confirmation. Hense I am in the users awaiting confirmation group which means I have no permission to upload photos. I bet if you moved Omegatron to usergroup 2 I would have permission to upload if you have set this accordingly.

You might need to contact your host and find out why your not sending emails. I tried sending myself a forgot password email same thing no email recieved

Okay a day later I recieve the email and click it to become verified

This is what I see I can login via the photopost login which is hidden for vb users

However I have no permissions plus if I try to login to vb login box no login is allowed.

This is what I would check

1. Check your cookies and make sure vb and photopost are exactly set like this

cookie path /

cookie prefix bb

cookie domain .fishthefinn.com

I show your domain is writing as this

forum.fishthefinn.com

So until your cookies are corrected in both apps your going to have issues

Next check to ensure you actually have a usergroup for registered users in the usergroups table of Photopost. From the looks of it your setting the registered group as stated to no permissions

You can PM me an admin login

I checked the settings you suggested in both Photopost & Vbulletin admin

1. cookie path /
2. cookie prefix bb
3. cookie domain .fishthefinn.com

I had points 1 & 2 set as you suggested but not number 3. I set the domain with the leading . and it seems to be fine now.

When I login as an ordinary user I now see the option to "upload photos"

Many thanks
