Error Message

Hi,

I just updated the Plesk control panel from 7.5 to 8.0 and I'm getting the following errors when I click on the Upload link to upload photos.

Kindly, advise what needs to be done.

I checked the following:

UID: 48 is apache's UID
GID: 48 is apache's GID

UID: 10008 is domain's UID
GID: 10008 is domain's GID

The error messages are as follows:

Warning: main(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 48 is not allowed to access ./pp-inc.php owned by uid 10008 in /home/httpd/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/photos/uploadphoto.php on line 16

Warning: main(pp-inc.php): failed to open stream: Inappropriate ioctl for device in /home/httpd/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/photos/uploadphoto.php on line 16

Warning: main(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 48 is not allowed to access ./pp-inc.php owned by uid 10008 in /home/httpd/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/photos/uploadphoto.php on line 16

Warning: main(pp-inc.php): failed to open stream: Inappropriate ioctl for device in /home/httpd/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/photos/uploadphoto.php on line 16

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'pp-inc.php'
(include_path='.:') in
/home/httpd/vhosts/mahiram.com/httpdocs/photos/uploadphoto.php on line 16

Kindly, advise what needs to be done to fix this. I bought the software few months ago and this is hte first time I ran into a problem like this.

try disabling php safe mode on your server.
When safe_mode is on, PHP checks to see if the owner of the current script matches the owner of the file to be operated on by a file function.

Photopost Requirements state SAFE MODE must be off on the server to successfully run Photopost as we do upload files and create directories. Safe mode restricts all this.

you are using plesk 8 try the group operations in plesk control panel, all your domains will be set to safe mode.

please confirm about same.. or read the plesk docs.. or manually do the same this way.

add vhost.conf at /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/conf/

with the following lines:

<Directory /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs>
php_admin_value safe_mode Off
</Directory>

then run

/usr/local/psa/admin/bin/websrvmng --reconfigure-vhost --vhost-name=<domain_name>

then run

service httpd restart

Hello

If you lost 7000 images when running scan database then your server path to the images was not correct in your setup. The only way to get the image back is to restore a mysql backup of the photos table and then you can diagnose what is truly wrong with your site.
