Mass Moving Members Images

My example..

I currently have A member photos and B member photos in one category. I would like to create separate A & B categories. How can I move over the images without doing it one by one?

Is there a way to move it by user-name?

Hello

You can only mass move images from one cat to another.

You can use the approve photos in admin and view the photos for the member photos and tick which ones to move and process them

Might be a little faster than one at a time but there is no official way to use bulk move to multiple categories.

No editing is for a specific photo. A member would never have permissions to mass move images that is an administration feature.

I would have thought that if they are his own images he should be able to.

Not mass edit. The user editing capability is per the image they are viewing.

No harm in asking how things work that is why we are here.

I know users can not mass move threads or anything they do in the vbulletin software either. It is just not a permission that is a common thinking on most admins part which is why you can not find it. Most any bulk actions are done in the administration panel of most software.

If you feel that strongly about it feel free to place a suggestion in the suggestions forum. Everything starts as an idea.

I agree with Chuck even though it sounds like a good idea to allow members to mass move to one of their own albums/categories. It would also mean members could then mass move all their photos to only one of their albums/categories then delete that album wiping out all photos they ever uploaded. I would think in most cases, admins would not want members able to easily delete every photo that member ever uploaded, especially if one is running a contest website where you would prefer all finalists and winners to stay for the duration of the website's life.

I'm sure we would also end up having members contact us saying.. oops. I accidentally deleted my whole gallery, can you please restore it lol.

I think mass move or delete of anything should just be an admin function.

I agree on the mass delete but no on mass move I was running my previous gallery like this for years. A member decides to rearrange his images into better format for what ever reason he has and now to have to move one image at a time just does not go down well. Anyway this could be turned on and off per area if wanted by adim. Right now I have a member that would like to split his images and have an area for bikes seen at bike night and take these out of his general area. So he must either do one of two things move each image one at a time or give me a list of all the images to move and I must do it from the admin CP

There is no mass delete or move of user images by users in our program.

would be nice if us as admins could turn it on or off according to categories. That way, any members photos we place into special finalist categories can no longer be moved or deleted except by admins

As stated any suggestions for features can go into a new suggestion in the suggestions forums. Michael will look in the suggestions forum for possible ideas once the core features are coded up from our list for other things to do.
