Random thumbnails on Index page?

I see on some sites that on the main index page of the gallery they have random thumbnails from that catagory rotate (next to the catagory). Is this a standard feature or a mod? I have Catagory Avatars set to On.

Go here
Admin Control Panel => Index Options => Show Random images on Index page? => Yes

I have done that and it shows the box on the bottom - not the mini thumbnails next to the catagory line.

Thats a catavatar and to do that in Admin => Index Options make sure you have catavatars on. You can then as admin select a photo from a category when viewing to be the INDEX THUMB by clicking the link shown to admin.

Great - thanks...on the main index page I do not have subcatagories showing...I have it like this:

Sports Cards (Main Strip - No thumbnail)
-- Baseball
---- Autos
---- Game Used
-- Basketball
---- Autos
---- Game Used

When I click on 'Baseball' then Autos and Game Used show the thumbnail...I have it setup so only the main subcatagories show (baseball, basketball) these do not display the thumbnail - only when I click on baseball or basketball will the subcatagories under that have one...is it possible to add one to the main subcatagories (baseball, basketball)?

Only if those categories have a photo uploaded to them
