| Thumbs on category pages and my table is out of whack
two questions:
First, I want to show the thumbnails on the main index, but would not like them on the category pages. Can that be done?
Second, the lower section of my table is wider than the top...can anyone tell me what happened?
Thanks!
Kathy Moore

You would need to post a url to show what you mean here
As far as setting random images on the cat pages in Admin => Show Photos turn off the setting
Display Featured Photos on this page?
On larger sites this option can slow down the showgallery page. Turn off to speed up this page.

Here's the URL: http://www.digiscrapdivas.com/photopost/
Now, the question was, can I show those thumbnails on the front page ONLY, but NOT on the category pages? I am apparently either not asking the question the right way or not understanding your answer.

I answered that question above in my last post
Now as far as your main cats table being larger than the rest it is those long category descriptions. You can do one of two things. Either in your Global Options change the date format to a shorter date format maybe numeric monthdate year like this
mm dd , yyyy
You can also in index options in admin turn off the last poster and or last comment section

Actually, Chuck, those long descriptions have always been there and this was never an issue...and it wasn't the issue here. I had inserted some html in a category description and for some reason, when you do that, it replaces the brackets and quotation marks with special characters, so you have to go back in and edit them a second time, after which the html works, but it's been a while since I did any new categories, so I forgot about it and didn't notice the ugly stuff until I went back tonight and looked again...just of those little quirks PP seems to have.
As for answering my question in your first post, I am just not following. I can't find whatever it is you are telling me to do...can you please be more specific or give me a bit more direction?
Thanks!

I must be blind! I've looked on the Admin>edit category pages and on the Admin>show photo options pages and I just can't find the option you're telling me to change...help!

5.21. Okay, I'll get upgraded and see if I can find it.
Thanks!
