|  can i have my comments pal back?
I turned it off... now i cannot get it back, my users are asking where it's gone and i cannot tell them where...  please help, there's something wrong somewhere, i've tried just "Display Recent Comments and Who's Online Pals" to ON only... nothing, various combos get me no where... http://www.sgurl.org/gallery/index.php
im gonna try re-upping all the vbadvanced templates again and see how she runs, besides that fine, i'll also make a list of all the missing style elements from the templates if using vB integration

Nope!, uploading all the default templates turned off all my thumbs, maybe a cache issue, turned that off also...anyways, somehow made it worse, the footer ended up underneath the whos online pal... anyways, i cannot get my comments pal back for love nor money...
right... missing style elements
menubar : searchbox input
search page...lots n lots, including the buttons
upload photo, too many to mention
memberhead and emailpage to friend
sortnow button
edit photo, lots
post a comment, submit button
bulk upload, usual input boxes
showphoto, submit button for admins wanting to do stuff
report photo submit button

If I go to your gallery I see you have edited your language file incorrectly and it has a parse error.
Anyway to get commentspal to show you must under sidebar settings set undercatspal to ON.

right ok, all i see is : "UnderCategory Bar - Display Recent Comments and Who's Online Pals"... which has been turned on & off more times than a vietnamese lady of the night! - i've tried so many combos, on off for all...etc etc etc...anyways i've added a link to comshow in the menubar template next to my faves etc...works ok there...

additionally, ive set my top posters to 5...setting to any other number has no effect!...oh dear what have i done!
cache is off btw

If you have hacked your install I would suggest uploading clean files and templates. This is right in our index.php file and is pretty clear. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

yeah i get ya... i did up all the advanced templates again and tried that but no go... but im sure i havent done anything to PP's main files... hmmm anyways, i'll try that and im sure your right as per...
(i check just now... everything is as default, same index.php as yours and using the same undercat.tmpl and undercat-sidebar.tmpl) all i changed was the cats template, but something simple... as i say it was there...a flick of a switch removed it...for good! you tell me....
also...my 'bold' menu problem? well i had to add some extra css in vB to make .tcat actually bold the links, troublesome git that was, but i nailed it... Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
works a treat! at last...

ahh just noticed, the feature pals is different when integrated with vB... the feature.tmpl was using 'tableborders' ... i changed that to 'tborder' jobs a goodun... the result was better than the snapshot anyways
sorry for being an-bearable perfectionist!
also, i edited ppopen.tmpl and changed "tablesurround" to "tableborders"...looks better (see grey skin)

Your free to change your templates to suit
Now as far as the issue I really dont know what else to say I have not said already. To show the recent comments block is a simple throw of one switch under Admin => Sidebar Settings to turn on the undercats pal
You can see by the code block I posted in index.php it is a pretty clear conditional clause. If the undercat is on either the undercat sidebar or undercat template is loaded depending on what you have set. can i have my comments pal back? | |
