Possible bug? - Moving Image from one category to another?

I think I have discovered a bug in moving an image from one category to another.

When you move the image to another category it moves it to the cat that you want - however it loses all the additional field information...

I think this because it isn't changing the "cat no" with regard to those fields in the extra fields table etc.

Any guidance on this would be appreciated!

Hello this would not be a bug. 2 possible scenerio's below

1. The first 6 extra field data is stored by category in the categories table. Your data answers for those extras are stored in the photos table. If you move a photo to a category that does not have extra fields it will not be displayed unless of course you fill out the extra fields under the new category.

2. Now the extended extra fields boxes are not transferable at all. There are defined and stored by category and stored in external tables aside from the categories or photos tables. That data can not be transfered at all if a photo is moved.

Yes '2' explains it.

The problem is I am using about 6 extended fields and I tried to move an image to another category and thats when the problem was highlighted.

It should be ok though - it will be quite rare that an image will need to be moved - so I can get around it.

Yep the first 6 you can tweak as I said by adding those extra field names to the other cat but the extended extras are explicit and can not be moved.
