How do i play with header/footer?

Hello Everybody

I am completely new to this script and forum as well !!! I was just wondering how do i play with design of the website ?

If i just change the header/footer files would the dsign be integrated in all the pages or there is more to it ?

You would place whatever header or footer code you wish over the program and our program would load it correctly.
