Change # of recent photos on gallery index

#1 i want to change the number of rows and thumbnails that show up in the Recent Photos block on my gallery's main index page, how do i do this? or point me to another thread please?

#2 which template do i alter to put the recent photos thumbnails block from underneath my gallery categories listing page (in forum listing mode) to up above ?

#3 i want to remove the random images and most popular images what code do i alter or comment out?

- Number of columns for most recent additions section?
- Show recent photos in default location (bottom)? (if no, will display at top)

- Show Most Popular images on Index page?
- Show Random images on Index page?
