how do I add .pdf filetypes?

I've added it as an allowable upload. And it appears to allow me to select a .pdf file to upload, and it goes thru the upload process, but when finished the web page is completely blank. I've searched my server and although the upload appeared okay, the file does not exist on the server.
Any ideas?

Hello you need to allow multimedia uploads and place that extention in Admin => Upload Options multimedia extentions. It does not go under allowed extentions

What Chuck told me allowed small .pdf files to be uploaded. Now I'm having a problem uploading bigger pdf files (4.5 meg). The upload acts as if it is working, but it never returns. I've checked the max multimedia file size and it is set to way higher for testing and just to be sure size limits were not the problem.
Any ideas what else I need to check to make this work?

Thats something totally different

PHP max upload size your host has set this to 2MB and unless its raised you can not upload anything bigger than that. I would suggest if thats the case you put something like this in max filesize in Adminn => Edit Usergroups

Thanks Chuck.

I can change that limit since I have my own host (VPS) right?

I have not tried it yet, first, I'm wondering if this is a good idea? Do you allow the larger uploads or should I stick with the 2m limit?
Is there a downside to allowing bigger files, other than the obvious (they take up more space and bandwidth)?
